Water Filter Superstore cartridge sets comprise two filters most commonly for use in Twin Filter Systems. This set is made up of 1 x 1 Micron Sediment Filter plus 1 x FX10PB1 Greenblock 1 Micron Carbon Block Cartridge.
SEDIMENT FILTER 10” X 2.5” POLYSPUN – 1 MICRON
This filter is used for removing sediment such as dirt, sand, scale and rust from water and old pipe work. It is commonly used as a pre-filter in twin filter systems. It provides excellent filtration of sediment due to its’ dual gradient technology. Large sediment is filtered in the outer layer and smaller sediment is filtered in the inner layer to ensure filtration efficiency. This multi-layer structure helps prevent the release of particles that may foul critical downstream components. Made from 100% polypropylene.
This is a standard size cartridge that will fit into a standard 10” housing.
This filter is tested and certified by NSF International against NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for material requirement only.
GREENBLOCK FX10PB1 CARBON BLOCK CARTRIDGE – 1 MICRON
This high performance cartridge is rated for the removal of giardia and cryptosporidium cysts and has a huge reduction capacity for chlorine, taste and odour as well as other chemicals. It also has the ability to remove lead for over 3,500 litres and this puts it up there with the best cartridges on the market. It is made from coconut shell based carbon, which gives the water a sweeter taste.
Fits standard 10” housing.
The Greenblock carbon blocks are made from coconut carbon which utilises a different, more environmentally friendly process to manufacture the product compared to similar products. When manufacturing a coconut or even a coal based carbon block there is usually approximately 2 kg of emissions which go into the atmosphere during the process. When manufacturing the Greencarb carbon blocks, they use the emissions from the activation process to power the manufacturing plant, preventing the emissions from going into the atmosphere and therefore being considerably more environmentally friendly. Also, traditionally coconut based carbon blocks have been more expensive than the coal based variety but the Greencarb carbon blocks are comparatively priced to their coal based counterparts.
